The Webbers Falls Lady Warriors saw their 2024 slow-pitch softball season end at the Class 2A District Tournament on Tuesday in Depew.
The Lady Warriors outlasted the Cave Springs Lady Hornets 17-14, but were beaten by the district-host Depew Lady Hornets by scores of 9-0 and 15-0.
The week started with a 3-1 road win over Gans on April 15.
There was no further information about the win over Cave Springs.
In the first loss to Depew, the Lady Hornets broke a scoreless tie with a four-run first inning. A four-run third inning put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Maddie Raskey, Bentley Ward, Sophia Bonilla, Rhilee Jones and Ricki Frazier each singled for the Lady Warriors (6-12). Teralynn Colston took the loss.
In the season-ending loss to Depew, the Lady Hornets stung the Lady Warriors with a fourrun first inning and a six-run second inning for a 10-0 lead. A fiverun fourth inning put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Karla Bonilla was 2-for-2 for Webbers Falls. Colston took the loss.
In the road win over Gans, the Lady Warriors broke a scoreless tie with single runs in the second, third and fourth innings for a 3-0 lead.
For the game, Colston, Raskey, Ward and Savannah Frazier each singled for Webbers Falls. Colston got the win.
