OKLAHOMA CITY — Gore Lady Pirates senior runner Hallie Kinion was hoping for a hat trick of three state titles at last weekend’s Class 2A State Meet, which took place Friday and Saturday at Oklahoma City Western Heights High School, but she had to settle for one.
Kinion won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.49 to be crowned state champion, but she did make it that trick as far as medaling was concerned.
Kinion was fourth in both the 400-meter dash (1:02.16) and the 1,600-meter run (5:41.32).
As for other locals, Central’s Braxin Goodson placed in two individual events, placing fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (42.9 seconds) and sixth in the 800-meter run (2:03.18), while Zachary Comer was 12th in the discus (114-3).
The Tigers’ 1,600-meter relay team of Gavin Randolph, Dillon Miller, Cale Stewart and Goodson was eighth (3:41.09), while the Lady Tigers’ 3,200-meter relay foursome of Paris Campbell, Cambree Bair, Gracie Thompson and Avery Warner was 11th (10:59.68).
In the Class A State Meet, the Webbers Falls Lady Warriors’ 3,200-meter relay team of Cheyanne Herrier, Bridgette Baer, Teralynn Colston and Abby Pense was 14th (12:00.83).
