Season ends for former Vian softball player, ATU Golden Suns

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The 2024 softball season came to an end for former Vian Lady Wolverine Kacie Gibbins and the Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns on Thursday at the 2024 Great American Conference Tournament.

After the Golden Suns defeated Henderson State 6-5 in the opening round, their season ended with a quarterfinal loss to Southern Arkansas by a score of 8-2.

In the win over Henderson State, Gibbins was 3-for-3 with two runs batted in — one coming on a first-inning double and the other on a fifth-inning single — and a stolen base.

In the loss to Southern Arkansas, Gibbins was hitless in threeat bats for the Golden Suns, who ended the season at 26-21.

For the season, Gibbins batted .237 with five doubles, eight runs batted in and four runs scored.
