Funeral services for James “Andy” Stokes, 59, of Sallisaw, were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial followed at 2 p.m. at Hartford Memorial Cemetery in Hartford, Ark., under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Stokes was born on March 20, 1965, in Long Beach, Calif., to Juanite (Butcher) Stokes and Charles Stokes. He died on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Sallisaw.
He was married to Debra Novotny on Jan. 1, 2022, in Vian.
He was a former iron worker and loved motorcycles, fishing and camping.
Survivors are wife, Debby Stokes of the home; three daughters, Heather McCafferty of Huntington, Ark., and Shaylee Bates and Rebecca Bates, both of the home; three sons, Steven Stokes and Amanda of Huntington, Jason Bates of the home, and Daron Key and Jennifer of Hawaii; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Lee Stokes and Nettee of Port Aransas, Texas and John William Stokes; and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Tasha Nicole Stokes.
Pallbearers were Shannon Pruitt, Dallas Kazy, Timmy Pruitt, Gary Pruitt, Corey Criddle and Anthony England.
