Funeral services for Jonathan Walters, 41, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Burial was at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Mr. Walters was born on Aug. 23, 1982, in Tahlequah to Dennis Lee Walters and Wanda Ella (Kennedy) Walters. He died on Friday, May 3, 2024, in Sallisaw.

He was a former Calvary Scout for the U.S. National Guard and a U.S. Army veteran.

He married Anna Fine on Oct. 30, 2021, in Tulsa. Survivors include his wife, Anna Walters of the home; two sons, Dawson and Riley Walters of the home; his mother, of Sallisaw; his father, of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Mary Barker of Sallisaw and Melissa Honeycutt of Marble City; one brother, Jeff Walters of Stilwell; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Buddie Kroft.
