Memorial Service for Emmett “E.T.” Tyler, 85, of Vian, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on February 17, 1939 in Vian, Oklahoma to Maxine (Daily) Speck and Wesley John Tyler and passed away on August 4, 2024 in Vian, Oklahoma. He was married to Dixie (Waldo) Tyler on June 17, 1960 in Santa Paula, California. He owned and operated Tyler’s Heat and Air and was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed rodeo’s and fishing. He received the Vian Citizenship Award from the City of Vian and the DHS Community Service Award. He went on multiple mission trips to Africa, Mexico and Brazil. He was a loving father and husband who was giving of his time and love to others. He taught Sunday school and was a worker in prison ministries. He was a cowboy through and through, was a winning fast draw gunslinger and a renowned knife maker.
Survivors are wife, Dixie of the home; two sons, Billy Tyler and Terry of Vian, OK and Richard Tyler and Jackie of Vian, OK; five grandchildren, Deana Clouse and Richard of Vian, OK, Misty Taylor of Prairie Grove, AR, Rachel Tyler of Tahlequah, OK, Gee Tyler and Krista of Vian, OK and Logan Tyler and Kelsey of Owasso, OK; nine great-grandchildren, Isabella Clouse, Blake Tyler, Zachary Boswell, Jazzlyn Boswell, Creed Clouse, Katie Blackbird, Trenton Blackbird, Dakota Tyler and Kingston Tyler; one sister, Doris Wolfgang of Dayton, TN; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Chuck Wycoff, Jimmy Mclendon, Robert Ingold, Joe Paul Simon, Jerry Paul Simon, Jim Smith, Bill Sanford, Kenneth Harris, Tommy Wright, Jarrett Gee Tyler, Logan Tyler, Blake Tyler, Zachary Boswell, Creed Clouse, Trenton Blackbird, Kingston Tyler, John Tyler and Larry Garner.
