The post-Hallie Kinion era will begin for Gore High School cross country. After the 2024 Gore High School graduate came in ninth at last year’s Class 2A State Meet to earn All-State status, Kinion has gone on, and now it’s time for some of her underclassmen to take the reins of the program for coach T.W. Estes.
The Pirates will have a full team this fall, which is a minimum of five runners, as there are seven runners out this fall. Competing for the Pirates this season will be Benson Hunt, Burr Jaynes, Eli Munson, Cain Cooper, Colton Frye, Nash Thouvenel and Waylon Gilley.
The good news for the Lady Pirates is there will be three runners hitting the trails this fall, but they only will get to compete as individuals as there’s not enough members to compete for team standings.
The Lady Pirates’ trio are Amelia White, Gracie Bruce and Rayleigh Moore.
The Gore runners will begin their 2024 season with their own meet Aug. 29 at the Steve Owens Sports Complex.
