Funeral services for Marion Lee “Moe” Tucker Jr., 65, were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church, with Pastor James Jones officiating. Burial followed with honors at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, Inc.
Mr. Tucker was born on Aug. 31, 1958, in Chicago, Ill. to Edna Mae Tucker and Marion Lee Tucker Sr. He died on Aug. 5, 2024.
He joined the Marine Corps in 1976 and served until being honorably discharged in 1979. During his time in active duty, he received the Battle Efficiency Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Rifle Marksman Badge.
Survivors are his mother, Edna Tucker of Vian; daughters, Kennita Myles, Ashley and Lindsey Tucker, all of Chicago and Khaneshia Doss of Sallisaw; son, Shaquille Tucker of Sallisaw; sisters, Bernita Tucker and Ellen Ash of Vian and Renita Burley of Chicago; brother, Charles “Chuckie” Tucker of Chicago; a host of grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; brothers, William Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell and Albert Kilpatrick; and sisters, Diana Bond, Rikki Tucker and Barbara Travis.
Pallbearers were Shaquille Tucker, Kaleb Guidry, Phillip Kilpatrick, Marquis Holmes Jr., Christopher “Weeze” Thompson and Ta’Shard Holden.
Honorary pallbearers were Marquise Holmes Sr. and Charles “Chuckie” Tucker.
