Funeral services for Janice (Barnes) Risenhoover, 90, of Brushy were held on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at Brushy Holiness Church. Burial followed at Brushy Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Risenhoover was born on Dec. 9, 1933, in Brushy to Lou Emma (Roark) Barnes and Virgil Barnes. She died on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, in Sallisaw.
She was married to R.G. Risenhoover on June 2, 1951, in Van Buren, Ark. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 2004.
She was a homemaker and member of Brushy Holiness Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Sheila Keith and David, and Nita Marley, all of Sallisaw; one son, Archie Risenhoover of Sallisaw; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Olta Mae Risenhoover; and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dovie Gardenhire and Little Omie Morgan; and brothers, Hoyt Barnes and Thomas Morgan.
Pallbearers were Archie Risenhoover, Kendall Marley, Shawnna Choate, Michelle O’Neal, Kimberly Dorr and Sasha Risenhoover.
