The Vian Board of Trustees convened on September 16 for its regular monthly meeting, approving new projects and other items impacting the community.
In personnel updates, the trustees welcomed David Garvin as a part-time employee and accepted the resignations of Officer Robert Johnson and Gregory Bonham. Additionally, they amended the compensation for Buddy Hunt, Chaplain for the Vian Police Department, to $100 bi-weekly.
John Ford proposed using the gazebo at Annabelle Farmer Park for a meeting hosted by the Westside Church of Christ on April 25, 2025, along with plans for primitive camping at Armstrong Park during that weekend. Suzanne Sullivan with the Vian Community Foundation also presented a check for parks and recreation maintenance, further supporting local facilities.
The board unanimously approved upcoming Little League projects aimed at enhancing youth sports facilities.
