BUNCH — The Webbers Falls Warriors bounced back from the previous week’s home loss to Keota by getting past the Cave Springs Hornets 40-34 Thursday night at Cave Springs High School.
Webbers Falls quarterback Brutus Robinson threw four touchdown passes, two of them going to Trysten Wilbourn on an 18-yarder and a 63-yarder. Robinson also connected with Gunner Shelby on a 15-yard TD pass as well as throwing a 20yard touchdown pass to Chevy Cole.
Aiden Turley also rushed for a 7-yard TD run as well as scored on two two-point conversion runs.
“It was a dogfight,” Webbers Falls coach Trent Holt said. “They threw it a bunch. We should have intercepted five passes, and we still have a bunch of kids out. The ones who stepped in and played, I was really proud of them. We’ll take a win — I don’t care what it looks like.”
The Warriors will return home for their final non-district game of the season when they entertain the Savanna Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Friday at Smokey Cox Stadium.
