Area blood drives to be held

Our Blood Institute (OBI) will be hosting blood drives this month.

Donors will receive a free glow in the dark “Peoplejuice” T-shirt while supplies last.

Sallisaw Walmart will hold theirs on Oct. 11 from 2 to 6 p.m.; Harps in Vian will have theirs on Oct. 25 from 2 to 6 p.m.; and NHS Sequoyah in Sallisaw on Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone who is healthy and 16-yearsold* or older can give blood.

Appointments to donate can be made online at obi.org or by calling 877-340-8777. Walk-ins are also welcome.

*16-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds and provide signed parental permission; 17-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds; 18+ year olds must weigh at least 110 pounds.

* Photo ID is required to donate blood.
