Funeral services for Edward Eugene “Gene” Copeland, 78, of Sallisaw, were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw.
Burial was at Marble City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Copeland was born on Aug. 29, 1946, in Marble City to Ed Copeland and Viola Edith (Honeycutt) Copeland. He died on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, in Sallisaw.
He worked as a general laborer. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Turner of Sallisaw; four sisters, Freda Moore of Cookson, and Marilyn Conine, Sue Butler and Rhonda Thornell, all of Sallisaw; three grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Edward Eugene “Sonny” Copeland Jr.; one sister, Darlene Repp; and two brothers, Mark Copeland and Bobby Copeland.
