Funeral services for Harold L. Gibson, 84, of Shawnee, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Aydelotte Church of Christ in Shawnee.
Graveside services followed at the Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.
Mr. Gibson was born on Nov. 13, 1939, near Sallisaw, to George Walter “Ted” Gibson and Iva Jewell Gibson (Rogers). He died on Wed., Oct. 2, 2024 in Shawnee.
Mr. Gibson was a retired federal and state law enforcement officer, as well as a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a Christian and Ordained Minister, and served as Elder at the Tenth and Shawnee Church of Christ and Aydelotte Church of Christ.
He was married to Alice Gibson on Oct. 1, 1965, in Sallisaw.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; two sons, Jared and Kelly Gibson of Shawnee and Jason and Maria Gibson of Fairfax Va.; one daughter, Jennifer Allison and husband Scott of Houston, Tex.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George Dalton, Bob and Paul Gibson; and sisters, Freda Hight and Emma Ball.
Pallbearers were Jared Gibson, Jason Gibson, Scott Allison, J. Paul, Matthew Davis and Jeremy Davis.
Honorary pallbearers were Dwight Davis, Randy Dickinson, Eric Talbot, Jerry Rogers, Larry Hight, Dwight Hight, Mark Hight, Keith Gibson, Greg Gibson, Ted Gibson, Roger Crisco, and Randy Chappa.
