CHECOTAH — The Gore, Webbers Falls and Central cross country runners competed at the 2024 Checotah Crossroads Cross Country Meet, which took place Oct. 8.
In the high school girls’ two-mile race, Webbers Falls Lady Warrior Cheyenne Herrier was 12th (14:32) to earn herself a medal.
In team standings, the Central Lady Tigers were 12th with 271 points.
Central’s Cambree Bair had the fastest time for the Lady Tigers as she was 25th (15:10). Xhayla Mosby was 65th (16:39), Jacilynn Young was 83rd (17:39), Rileigh Ford was 94th (18:07) and Gracie Thompson was 135th (22:57).
The Gore Lady Pirates also had three runners participate in Tuesday’s meet. Rayleigh Moore was 37th (15:37), Amelia White was 66th (16:47) and Gracie Bruce was 118th (20:04).
Webbers Falls Lady Warrior Katie Frazier was 104th (19:59).
The Central Lady Tigers tied the Keys Lady Cougars for second place with 92 points in the junior high girls race.
Two Lady Tigers made the top 10 as Sara Williams was fourth (6:57) and Sadie Huff was seventh (7:17).
As for other Lady Tigers, Olivia Blalock was 44th (8:22), Shelby Jones was 45th (8:22), Graye Riggs was 49th (8:29) and Sailor Bauer was 53rd (8:36).
In the junior high boys race, Central’s Wyatt Parker placed 86th (8:04).
The Checotah meet ended the regular season for the local high school runners, who now will be idle until their respective regional meets on Oct. 26.
