ARKOMA — The Webbers Falls Warriors kept their Class B, Division II playoff hopes alive with a 60-14 rout of the host Arkoma Mustangs last Friday night at Mustang Field.
The Warriors (5-4 overall, 2-2 in District BII-4 play) are tied for third place with Wesleyan Christian, which lost 54-14 to the Warriors Oct. 17 at Smokey Cox Stadium.
If the Warriors win their Senior Night game against the Gans Grizzlies (1-8, 0-4) at 7 p.m. this Friday at Smokey Cox Stadium, they will lock up the third-place spot in the district — even if Wesleyan Christian defeats district champion Wilson (Henryetta).
However, should Wesleyan Christian defeat Wilson (Henryetta) and Gans upsets Webbers Falls, the Warriors would drop to the No. 4 spot.
The Warriors jumped out to a 30-6 lead after a period, which became a 38-14 halftime advantage.
A 22-0 third quarter put Webbers Falls ahead 60-14 to have the game stopped at that point due to the 45-point mercy rule.
Brutus Robinson hit Trysten Wilbourn on a 55-yard touchdown pass, while Austin Barger rushed for 158 yards and scored twice on TD runs of 56 and 60 yards, along with four twopoint conversion runs.
Aiden Turley scored twice on touchdown runs of 5 and 48 yards to go with a two-point conversion as he amassed 78 yards rushing. Dawson Littlefield scored on a 22-yard TD run.
Clayton Roberts also returned a kickoff 73 yards for a score.
