Gore’s Board of Education convened for a special meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 to discuss the search process for a new school superintendent.
Board member Gary Cunningham made a motion, followed by a second motion from board vice president Jeremiah Perryman to approve a base contract of $8,000 with the OSSBA to assist in the board’s process.
After unanimously approving the motion, the board discussed the characteristics and criteria to be utilized in the search for about 45 minutes before adjourning the meeting.
The board voted to not renew current Gore Public School Superintendent Lucky McCrary’s employment for the 2025-26 school year following an executive session regarding his evaluation, during their last regular monthly meeting.
