Lands celebrate 72nd wedding anniversary

Bill and Betty Land recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary.

Mr. And Mrs. Land were married on Oct. 20, 1952, by Dr. Stanley Jordan at First Baptist Church, Van Buren, Ark.

The couple resided for three years in Wichita Falls, Texas, where Mr. Land was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base.

The Lands returned to Sallisaw after Mr. Land’s completion of military service where they were owners/proprietors of Downtown Supermarket and Land-O-Fashion Children’s Dress Shop.

They have attended Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw for 46 years and are charter members. The Lands attribute a long and happy marriage to their faith in the Lord and always putting Him first.
