Mary Kay (Shepard) Elwick, 79, of Sallisaw, died on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born on Jan. 18, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas, to Ellen (Mulherin) and Arthur Dee Shepard.
Cremation was under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
She was a 1966 graduate of the University of Colorado, and received her master’s degree in education from Northeastern State University in 1983. She was an elementary teacher for many years, and served as an elementary principal for seven years.
She married Don Elwick on June 15, 1969, in Greely, Colo. She enjoyed traveling, arts and crafts, and gardening.
Survivors are her husband, Don; son, Don D. Elwick and wife Megan of Weatherford; daughter, Stephanie Mollet and husband Matt of Dallas; nine grandchildren; sister, Elaine Shepard of Sallisaw; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one granddaughter, Kylee.
