coach Garren Weatherton and the fact that eight players from a season ago are back, the Webbers Falls Lady Warriors are looking for bigger and better things for this new season.
Coming off a 14-10 season in which the Lady Warriors got to the Class A Regional Tournament consolation quarterfinals, several players who saw playing time last year are back this season, led by seniors Cheyanne Herrier, a state qualifier in cross country for the first time in her fouryear prep career, and Bridgette Baer. Also back are Lextyn Chappell, Hailey Shanks, Audrie Spears, River Harrison, Abbie Patterson and Bailey Ward.
Also in the fold this year is Gore transfer Kailey Mannon, also a senior who ran cross country for the Lady Warriors this fall.
Filling out the rest of the roster spots are River Qualls, Paizley Turley, Madison Smith, Hannah Kay Mason and Peyton Shanks.
This year’s Lady Warriors will have to fill the void of departed sisters Teralynn Colson and Laina Colston. Teralynn is now a Quinton Lady Savage, while Laina is not playing basketball this season.
The Lady Warriors will begin their new season at 6 p.m. next Tuesday against Riverside Conference foe Arkoma at Webbers Falls Event Center.
