The Webbers Falls are hoping for much better success this season than a year ago, when they were 6-16 and did not win their lone playoff game to the Gans Grizzlies in the Class A District Tournament on their home floor at Webbers Falls Events Center.
The Warriors will ride the leadership of 5-10 senior guard Luke Pierce, who averaged 5.1 points and 2.6 rebounds a game a season ago.
The other senior is Elliott Kunkel.
Juniors on this season’s squad are Eli Hefflin and Caden Carter, along with sophomores Gunner Shelby, Brutus Robinson. Freshmen on this year’s team are Thaden Yandell, Wyatt Schecland and Cordac Shine.
The remainder of the roster will include Ryker Gilley, Kaiden Baize, Chandler Cramer and Chevy Cole.
“We have lots of new faces on this year’s team,” said Webbers Falls boys coach Jim Glover, entering his third season at the helm of the program. “We will have some growing pains, but we should be better at the end of the season.”
Glover said his team’s strength is its depth, but inexperience also will be an obstacle for the Warriors to overcome — especially early on this season.
