A Gore man was pronounced deceased on Dec. 23 following a traffic accident in Muskogee County.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Christopher Rochell reported the collision took place just before 7 a.m. about three miles east of Wainwright.

Rochell said a 2013 Freightliner dump truck driven by Steven Fryer, 72, of Muskogee, was stopped along its usual route when it was struck from behind by a 2019 Chevy Silverado, driven by Oliver Mc-Coy, 79, of Gore.

McCoy reportedly expired at the scene, according to the accident report, and Fryer was not injured. The cause of the collision remains under investigation as of press time.
