The Vian Board of Trustees met for its regular monthly meeting on Dec. 16, where they accepted the resignation of a town employee and approved a resolution to be used for insurance premiums.
The board unanimously voted to accept the resignation of Jesse Massey, and approved Resolution No. 2024-002, authorizing OMAG to distribute escrow account funds in the amount of $11,982.50, to be used for insurance premiums.
No action was taken once again on approving a Text-MyGov proposal, which was tabled from October and November’s meetings; and the board also voted to take no action on approving a vehicle quote from Big Bear Police Vehicles, LLC for the purchase of a 2017 Ford PI utility.
The vehicle reportedly has 71,000 miles on it and was listed for $21,400.
However, the board voted to approve the purchase of a CD at Armstrong Bank in the amount of $150,000 from the Special Sales Tax Savings account at 4.7% interest for six months.
They also approved the purchase of two additional CDs in the amount of $100,000 each, according to meeting minutes.
All other reports for the month, including fire, police, sanitation, street and parks, and the treasurer’s report were all approved for the previous month with no stipulations.
During the Vian Public Works Authority meeting, Bid number SSS-0121-2024 for 8” inlet pipe repairs and insulation in the amount of $22,764 from Superior Services & Supply LLC was approved.
