The Gore Pirates wrestling team got a pair of home wins over the Roland Rangers and the Heavener Wolves on Jan. 14 at Gore Event Center.
While the Pirates tied the Rangers at 18-all and the Wolves at 30-all, both duals were awarded to the Pirates (2-1 in duals this season) due to getting more pinfall wins than the Rangers and Wolves.
In Gore’s victory over Roland, Kaydin Mc-Cartney, Bladin Mc-Cartney and Devon Mannon each won by pinfalls.
In Gore’s win over Heavener, Cole Brooksher, Antonio Parker and Kaydin McCartney all won by pinfalls, while Bladin McCartney and Mannon each won by forfeit.
In junior high action, Gore beat Roland 30-12 and Heavener 24-18.
The Pirates were slated to participate in the District 3A-7 Duals beginning at noon Tuesday at Sperry along with Hulbert, Pawhuska, Prague, Sequoyah-Tahlequah and Tulsa Victory Christian. The team with the best winloss record on the day will qualify for the Class 3A Dual State Tournament on Feb. 14-15.
