Useful Idiots

Useful Idiots
By Pastor Michael Martin Vian Baptist Church

Proverbs 1:22 “How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?” Let me define a couple of terms for you. Simplicity is the quality or condition of being plain or natural or the quality or condition of being easy to understand or do. This is a state of Utopia and bliss. In this place, people are frank and honest to a fault, yet there is no such place as this on our world. Solomon, in his instruction to his sons, knew the world was more complex, that there are always someone plotting to have his or her own way. He spoke of men who wanted to lie in wait to kill and steal so they might have wealth and spoil, as it is called in the Bible.

We have a legal system and people go to any length to try to find a way around the laws of our Nation. Most people involved in this thinking were referred to as “Useful Idiots”. The term Idiot means a silly or foolish person. They believe things that simply are not true, yet they will defend their belief in the face of truth and doggedly stick to the untruth as if it was the most valuable thing in the world.

In 1959, Congressman Ed Derwinski of Illinois entered an editorial by the Chicago Daily Calumet into the Congressional record, referring to Americans who traveled to the Soviet Union to promote peace as “what Lenin calls “useful idiots” in the Communist game”. The term goes back even farther than that, but I wont bore you with the details.

Recently, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel used the term “Useful Idiots” in a speech given to Congress. He was referring to people protesting for a Terrorist Organization that attacked Israel, then began a systematic propaganda campaign to appear as if THEY were the victims! And the “Useful Idiots” are condemning Israel for protecting herself.

It reminds me of a story I was taught somewhere along my life. A man had a good dog that played in the yard and was friendly to every person who went by it. A certain man would walk by twice a day and the dog would stand with his front feet on the fence to greet him. Most people gave the dog a friendly pat on the head and the dog was happy. This man would slap the dog every time the dog tried to greet him. After several weeks of this treatment, one day the dog bit the man as he tried to slap him. The man called the police and exclaimed, “Bad Dog!”

How many times does Israel need to be slapped before they can retaliate? How many must be killed before they are allowed to defend themselves? Who are we to try to tell another nation that they can or cannot defend their citizens?

“The best defense is a good offense” is an adage that has been applied to many fields of endeavor, including games and military combat. It is also known as the strategic offensive principle of war.” Do you know who spoke this? George Washington, the founding military leader of our nation said this to an assembled group of his peers.

Now listen to wisdom from the Word of God, please. It starts out with Abraham. Genesis 12:3 “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” And now speaking of Israel in Numbers 24:9 “…Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.”

God is quite clear about the world’s treatment of Israel. “Useful Idiots” have already believed several lies of the Devil. First, they do not believe in the Word of God. Second, they do not believe in God Himself. Third, they believe that their lifestyle should be accepted by everyone or they will riot, march and complain bitterly until those who disagree are silenced.

It is ironic that the “Community” that is marching for the Palestinians could never live in Palestine. They would be murdered for their lifestyle! That is why Netanyahu called them “Useful Idiots”. The “Useful Idiots” began the marches that many of turned violent when someone dared to contradict their foolish behavior. Now they have enlisted several other “Rebels” to their cause. Colleges supply many of these “Useful Idiots”. Are their parents proud? Did the parents sacrifice to send them to college for them to participate in marches or did they send them to get an education?

These “Useful Idiots” believe in the phrase. “Our Cause is Just!” It is another lie being fed to them by those who thrive on Chaos. The true version of this saying is as follows: What is a ‘just cause? A war is only just if it is fought for a reason that is justified, and that carries sufficient moral weight. The country that wishes to use military force must demonstrate that there is a just cause to do so. The main just cause is to put right a wrong.

Israel being attacked, Israels citizens being killed, Israels response is just. The wickedness that caused the original attack that killed so many of Israels citizens must be rooted out and destroyed or it will just surface again at a later date.

Friends to the Nation of Israel will be blessed, a promise given of God Almighty. Those that condemn (curse) Israel will not be blessed. I desire our nation to be blessed, don’t you?
