Funeral services for Mildred F. (McClure) Callahan, 87, of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at First Assembly of God Church in Sallisaw. Burial was at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Callahan was born on July 24, 1937, in Carlsbad, N.M., to James Rufus McClure and Myrtle (Ross) McClure. She died on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, in Vian.
She worked as a teacher’s aide at Liberty Elementary School and was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church in Sallisaw where she served as a Missionette and youth group leader.
She married Kenneth Callahan on Nov. 16, 1957, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2024.
Survivors include four sons, Greg and Jamie Callahan of Fort Smith, Ark., James Callahan of Carrollton, Texas, Bradley and Stacy Callahan of Sallisaw and Chris and Julie Callahan of Plano, Texas; one brother, James and Kathy McClure of Broken Arrow; 10 grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Kevin Adair, Trey Woodside, Tim Tran, Brice Callahan, Kyler Ekberg, Eric Callahan, Caden Callahan, Camden Callahan and Ryan Fair.
