OKLAHOMA CITY — Vian Wrestling Club member Joely Hunt earned herself a state championship as she won the 92-pound title in the girls’ division of the 2025 Oklahoma State Junior High Tournament, which took place Thursday at Jim Norick State Fair Arena. She went 4-0, getting three of the wins by pinfall.
She was the only local wrestler to place on the weekend.
The Gore Pirates had six wrestlers compete over the final two days of the event on Friday and Saturday, with 160-pounder Jaydan Gates going 5-2 and getting eliminated in the consolation semifinals.
Wyatt Chitty (80 pounds), Stryker Sandy (130) and Treydan Daugherty (heavyweight) all went 2-2, Beau Moore (105) went 1-2 and Jace Gates (130) lost both of his matches.
