DENISON, Texas — Former Vian softball player Maisie Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers went 3-1 in last week’s THF Winter Blast Tournament, beating Vernon College 8-5 and Western Oklahoma State College 8-3 on Friday, then defeating North Central Texas 10-8 in eight innings but losing 12-0 in five innings to Grayson College on Saturday.
In the win over Vernon, Wells was hitless in three at-bats but scored once with a run batted in.
In the victory over Western, Wells was 2-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base and two runs scored.
In the win over North Central Texas, Wells tripled in five at-bats with a run scored.
In the loss to Grayson, Wells singled for one of four EOSC hits in the game.
After Wells and the Lady Mountaineers played a home doubleheader Monday against Arkansas-Rich Mountain, they will return to action with a 1 p.m. Thursday road twinbill at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College.
