MONTICELLO, Ark. — Former Vian softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison softball team swept a Great American Conference series from host University of Arkansas-Monticello last weekend.
The Bison (8-7 overall, 3-0 in conference play) took both games last Saturday by scores of 5-0 and 10-5, then took last Sunday’s contest 11-1 in five innings.
In last Saturday’s opener, Wells went 2-for-3 with her third home run of the season and three runs batted in, while going 2-for-3 with her fourth double, fourth homer, four RBIs and two runs scored.
In last Sunday’s victory, Wells went 1-for-3 with her fifth homer and two RBIs.
Through 15 games, Wells is hitting .341 with four doubles, four homers, 19 RBIs and eight runs scored.
Wells and the Bison will continue GAC play with a home three-game series against Southwestern Oklahoma State University this weekend in Shawnee as the two teams will play a single game at 6 p.m. this Friday and a noon doubleheader this Saturday before playing a road twinbill at 4 p.m. Tuesday against Cameron University in Lawton.
