The Central Lady Tigers slow-pitch softball team, which was scheduled to begin the 2025 season Monday afternoon at home against Keota, will have a lot of experience for this spring season.
The Lady Tigers are returning nine players from a season ago, with four of those seniors — infielder Ayrland Giles (who signed to play college softball at Arkansas-Monticello), utility player Riley Rowland, pitcher Elizabeth Ortiz and and outfielder Allie Harris.
Sophomores back are utility player Jhaselyn Gonzalez, outfielders Paris Campbell and Keeley Poindexter and infielders Julia Mithlo and Gretchen Reed.
The rest of the team is comprised of senior infielder Camryn Gilliam, junior outfielder Brianna Taylor, sophomore outfielder Alyvia Warner, freshman third baseman Charlie Petree and freshmen infielders Daylee Gower and Brenleigh Allen.
“We return several players from last year’s team,” Central coach Cody Prater said. “We also have gained some experience from our fast-pitch season. We’re looking to go out and be competitive and get better each game.”
