SHAWNEE — Former Vian softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison took two of three home Great American Conference games from Southwestern Oklahoma State University over the weekend.
On Friday, the Bison edged the Bulldogs 3-2 before the Bison split Saturday’s doubleheader — taking the opener 8-4 but losing 2-1 in the nightcap.
In Friday’s game, Wells was 1-for-3 with her sixth home run and two runs batted in.
On Saturday, Wells singled in three at-bats in the opener, while being hitless in three atbats in the nightcap.
Through 18 games, Wells is batting .327 with four doubles, six homers, 21 RBIs, nine runs scored and three stolen bases.
Wells and the Bison (10-8) was slated to meet Cameron University for a twinbill on Tuesday in Lawton before travel-ing to Ada to face East Central University in a weekend series, with a single game at 3 p.m. Friday and a noon doubleheader. Then, they will entertain Southern Nazarene University for a home 4 p.m. DH next Tuesday in Shawnee.
