The Gore Lady Pirates ended the pre-Spring Break portion of their season on a down note as they lost twice at home March 11 — losing 10-8 to Central and 10-1 to Porum.
In the loss to Central, the Lady Tigers rallied for the come-from-behind win with a threerun fifth inning to take a 10-8 lead, then held the Lady Pirates (1-3) scoreless in their half of the inning.
In defeat, Hallie Brewer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Mylee Bruce was 2-for-3 for Gore.
Ricki Huckbay (0-1) took the loss, despite getting three strikeouts.
In the loss to Porum, the Lady Panthers took control of the game with an eight-run first inning. After the Lady Pirates scored their only run, the Lady Panthers scored twice in the third inning to put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Huckbay and Sophie O’Connor were 2-for-2 for Gore. Bruce (1-2) took the loss.
The Lady Pirates will be idle until after Spring Break, not returning to action until a 5:45 p.m. Monday game at home against Okay.
