The Gore Board of Education convened for its regular meeting at 6 p.m. on March 10, where they voted on and discussed several items regarding staffing, construction and a sealed bid.
The board began with the unanimous approval of the consent agenda, which included general fund and building fund purchase orders, along with the approval of Cassandra Patton as a substitute.
The board heard presentations on a variety of topics, including a proposal from Ms. Ridinger regarding the staff dress code, and a report from the Child Nutrition Director on the hiring of an onsite manager.
The board approved a motion to post a sealed bid for the sale of personal property from the bus barn that is no longer needed. The decision was made to list the property on the Gore Public Schools website.
Superintendent Lucky Mc-Crary reported an update on the district budget, and Principals Tonya Pugh and Amanda Andrews also gave their reports to the board members.
The board also held a discussion about new construction of a weight room and possibly other outlying buildings. Executive session The board moved to an executive session at 7:32 p.m. to discuss the employment of principals for the 2025-26 school year. After returning to open session at 9:26 p.m., it was announced that no votes were taken during the session.
The board made the decision to hire Pugh as the Lower Elementary principal and Andrews as Upper Elementary and High School principal for the 2025-26 school year.
No new business was brought forward with the meeting adjourning at 9:28 p.m.
