Funeral services for Michael Stephens, 70, of Sallisaw, were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at First Christian Church in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Stephens was born on June 26, 1954, to Dorothy (Secondi) and Oscar Lewis Stephens. He passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Oklahoma City.
He was an alumnus of Northeastern State University, earning a degree in Mathematics, Engineering Physics and Industrial Technology with a minor in Humanities, and Oklahoma State University, obtaining his Master’s in Chemical Engineering. He worked as a Chemical Engineer at ConocoPhillips Petroleum Company.
He married Elaine (Jackson) Stephens, on July 4, 2008, in Bartlesville.
Survivors are his wife, Elaine; two daughters, Ashley Bishop and husband, Darren of Edmond and Linsey O’Field and husband Brian of Durango, Colo.; mother of his children, Janna Long; step-daughter, Brooke Roberts of Sallisaw; three step-sons, Shea Humphrey of Jenks, and Jeff Humphrey and Chase Humphrey, both of Sallisaw; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Jerry A. Crow of Oklahoma City, and Karen Fargo and Tonya Stephens, both of Sallisaw; brother, Dan Davenport of Muldrow; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Lewis and Oscar L. Stephens II; sister, Debi Denley; and sister-in-law, Dee Davenport.
Pallbearers were Shea Humphrey, Darren Bishop, Brian O’Field, Jackie Horn, Andrew Aldredge and J.R. Bibb.
