Former Vian softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison swept a pair of series last week.
The Lady Bison took two games from Texas Women’s University by scores of 7-5 and 13-7 last Wednesday in Denton, Texas.
Over the weekend, the Bison took a threegame Great American Conference home series from Ouachita Baptist University in Shawnee, winning Friday night’s game 14-3 in five innings, then sweeping Saturday’s doubleheader by scores of 8-0 in five innings and 5-4.
In last Wednesday’s opener against TWU, Wells went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs batted in, while hitting a double and scoring twice in the nightcap.
In Friday’s victory over Ouachita Baptist, Wells went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
In Saturday’s opener against Ouachita Baptist, Wells was 2-for-3 with her ninth home run of the season and four RBIs, while going hitless in three at-bats in the nightcap.
Through 33 games, Wells is batting .347 with nine doubles, nine homers, 34 RBIs, 20 runs scored and six stolen bases.
Wells and the Bison (21-12 overall, 14-3 in GAC play) will travel to Durant next weekend for a three-game road GAC series against Southeastern Oklahoma State University, with games at 3 p.m. Friday and a noon doubleheader Saturday.
