March is Read Across America month and what a wonderful night Gore had at celebrating reading! Gore Elementary had its annual Dr. Seuss Book Fair Night on March 6. The principal, teachers, and staff decorated halls and rooms to welcome the students, parents, and the community to the fun-filled event. Along with the book fair, there were games with prizes, a cake walk, plinko, make your own Seuss treats, giveaways, bingo, crafts, and more. Students walked away with free books, which would have made Theodore Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss, very proud. He wrote many books encouraging children to read. He even had famous quotes about literacy. “The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss.
