The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Oklahoma District Office is celebrating Oklahoma’s Small Business Person of the Year and four additional honorees as it prepares for National Small Business Week, which will take place May 4-10.
SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year has been awarded to Kayla Palmer, Palmer Construction & Marine Company LLC, Webbers Falls. She will be awarded at a local ceremony on May 7 in Tulsa.
“Congratulations to this year’s small business winners, whose innovation and dedication have set a remarkable standard in our region,” Regional Administrator Justin Crossie said. “I am looking forward to National Small Business Week celebrations to honor their achievements and the positive impact they continue to make in our communities as they pursue their American dream.”
Along with awards ceremonies, the week will include a national small business roadshow with SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler, a two-day virtual summit, community events and educational sessions about manufacturing, digital marketing, cybersecurity and cryptocurrency, as well as online business resources and renowned speakers.
“These entrepreneurs take the risk of opening a small business, help invest in their communities across Oklahoma, and create important jobs for Oklahomans,” Fernanda Pedraza-Schmitt, Oklahoma SBA District Director said. “They represent the entrepreneurial spirit that drives Oklahoma’s success.”
