The Webbers Falls Lady Warriors slowpitch softball team went 2-1 in its own one-day festival at Eual Carter Sports Complex.
On Thursday, the Lady Warriors edged cross-rival rival Gore 1-0 to begin the day and ended things with a 5-1 victory over Heavener. However, the Lady Warriors lost 3-2 to Vian.
The week began with a 13-0, three-inning home loss to the Keota Lady Lions on March 24, then their March 25 home game against Okay was canceled.
In the win over Gore, Webbers Falls player Kendra Kimble hit a two-out, RBI single to score Lextyn Chappell with the game’s only run in the fifth inning.
For the game, Bentley Ward was 3-for-3, Kimble was 2-for-3 with the game-winning RBI and Bridgette Baer was 2-for-3 for the Lady Warriors (4-6). Lextyn Chappell (2-1) got her first win of the season.
In the win over Heavener, the Lady Warriors scored once in the opening inning and three runs in the second inning for a 4-0 lead.
For the game, Bailey Ward was 3-for-4 with a run batted in and a run scored, Rhilee Jones was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Kimble was 3-for-3 with a run scored, Karla Bonilla was 3-for3, Gracie Sturgell was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored and Baer was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Webbers Falls.
Chappell got the win, getting two strikeouts.
In the loss to Vian, Vian’s Kaidence Roark’s grounder scored Tress Sandlin from third base with the game-winning run in the seventh inning for the Lady Wolverines.
In defeat, Sturgell was 2-for-3, while Bailey Ward was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Webbers Falls.
Chappell took the loss, despite recording two strikeouts.
In the loss to Keota, Keota pitcher Addi Mc-Clary tossed a two-hitter.
The Lady Lions scored five runs in the first inning, with a pair of fourrun innings in the second and third innings putting the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Sturgell and Chappell each singled for the only hits for the Lady Warriors (2-5). Bentley Ward (2-2) suffered the loss.
