WILBURTON — Former Vian Wolverines pitcher Dakota Briggs saw action in Sunday’s home doubleheader against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
In Sunday’s 8-5 loss to the Norsemen in the opener, Briggs pitched the final 3.2 innings of the game in relief with two strikeouts.
The Mountaineers took the nightcap by the score of 12-8.
For the season, Briggs is 0-1 with a 11.12 earned-run average. In 5.2 innings pitched, he has four strikeouts.
Briggs and the Mountaineers (20-18 overall, 7-7 in conference play) will return to action at 3 this afternoon for a single, nine-inning home game against NEO, followed by a 2 p.m. Thursday home single, nine-inning game and a 1 p.m. Saturday home doubleheader against Seminole State College.
