The Gore Lady Pirates enjoyed a perfect week last week as they beat the Gans Lady Grizzlies 15-3 in five innings on March 31 in Gans, then picked up a 6-0 home win over Arkansas River rival Webbers Falls on April 1. In the win over Gans, after the Lady Grizzlies scored twice in the fourth inning to cut their deficit to 7-3 after four innings, the Lady Pirates (5-7) scored eight runs in the fifth inning to put the game into run-rule status.
For the contest, Maddison Douglass was 4-for-4 with a double, two runs batted in and a run scored, Kennedy Williams was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored, River Shoemake was 2-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBIs, Peyton Curran was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored and Hallie Brewer doubled with two RBIs and a two runs scored for Gore. Mylee Bruce (5-7) got the win.
In the victory over Webbers Falls, the Lady Pirates scored three runs in the first inning and single runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings.
For the game, Brewer was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Shoemake was 3-for-3 with her first home run of the season, three runs batted in and two runs scored for Gore. Bruce tossed a seven-hitter with four strikeouts for the win.
