The Webbers Falls Warriors split their baseball games last week before Mother Nature rained on their parade to end the week.
The Warriors outlasted the visiting Braggs Wildcats 16-12 on April 1 at Eual Carter Sports Complex after losing a 9-8 road game to the Weleetka Outlaws on March 31.
The Warriors had Thursday’s road game at Okay and Friday’s home game with Quinton rained out, and it is doubtful that either game will be rescheduled.
In the win over Braggs, the Warriors (68-1) scored five runs in the sixth inning to turn a 12-11 deficit into a 1612 victory.
For the game, Elliott Kunkel was 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs batted in and two runs scored, Clayton Roberts was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI and Brutus Robinson was 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for Webbers Falls.
Ryan Cowan (2-2) got the win in relief, going the final 4.1 innings with seven strikeouts. Gunner Shelby started and failed to get an out during Braggs’ five-run first inning. Kunkel came in and went the next 2.2 innings with four Ks.
In the loss to Weleetka, after the Warriors scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 8-all, the Outlaws walked it off for the win in their half of the frame.
In defeat, Robinson was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in, while Roberts was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Webbers Falls.
Cowan suffered the loss in relief, going the final two-plus innings. Robinson started and went the first four innings with three strikeouts.
