FORT GIBSON — The Vian High School track teams got their seasons underway at the Fort Gibson Invitational on March 28.
The Lady Wolverines scored six points, complements of Emri Smith’s third-place finish in the shot put (3011).
As for other Lady Wolverines, Annie Neal was 10th (12-11) in the long jump, while Tina Rautenberg was 11th (20.15 seconds) and Alina Mendoza was 19th (23.26) in the 100-meter hurdles.
Izzy Clouse was 12th in the discus (55-7), while Sidney Clark was 13th (31.63), Brooke Byers was 26th (34.96), Eva Lee was 28th (37.14) and Kylie Covie was 30th (39.66) in the 200-meter dash.
Carmen Rautenberg was 16th (3:10.55) and Maya Silos was 29th (4:05.34) in the 800-meter run, while Neal was 23rd (16.14 seconds) and Keira Ballesteros was 28th (20.3) in the 100-meter dash.
The Wolverines scored a point in the meet in the team standings, thanks to Peyton Johnson’s seventh-place finishing the shot put (38-2.5).
As for other Wolverines, Tristan Wiley was 12th in the discus (8410), while Jacob Brannick was 13th in the 100-meter dash (12.69 seconds).
Austin Wilson was 16th (1:02.62), Ricky Wolfe was 22nd (1:04.6) and Brannick was 26th (1:07.42) in the 400-meter dash, while Braxton Drake was 21st in the 800-meter run (2:48.03).
