Jeremiah 18:2-4 “Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made
Michael Martin it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.”
Vian God creates each soul with a pur Bapfist pose. The potter takes in hand a f’htirrh lumP °f day with a distinct design. He means, when he places it on the horizontal wheel, to make of it a vessel to adorn a temple or palace, or he has in mind to serve some household use. The revolving wheel on the one hand, and his skilful manipulation on the other, will evolve and complete his purpose. “Cannot I do with you, as this potter? saith the Lord.”(copied) Psalms 119:73 JOD. “Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.”
“Thou hast made me and fashioned me. Thou didst choose the time and circumstances of my birth, my parentage and heredity, my mental equipment and my physical frame. From the first Thou didst know the constitution of my body, which Thou didst fashion in secret, and curiously work in the lowest places of the earth.” (copied) Psalms 139:13-16 “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”
If indeed, we are formulated from a plan that God has for us, shouldn’t we seek it? To be totally happy, we must follow the plan that God has planned for us, wouldn’t you think? What is our potential? Are we destined to be unhappy, divorced, drunk or high? I’m pretty sure that that is the Satan’s plan for us, not God’s.
When man fell into sin in the Garden of Eden, man had a choice. Do I eat the fruit God commanded me not to or do I listen to what God tells me. Just a short note: if indeed we are created, formed, and placed in the very circumstance where God wants us, we can be happy, fulfilled and fruitful, yet God allows each male and female to choose their own pathway. I’ll admit, the devil’s highway looks pretty exciting and if the Bible is true, man chooses it over the plain, peaceful path God wants them to walk.
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Let’s think back to the first verses. God creates man with a good purpose in mind, yet leaves it up to man to choose good over evil. As I look on top of my bookcase I have an old jar that was designed to make mayonnaise in. The recipe is embossed on the side of the jar and it has the appropriate plunger with which to mix the ingredients. It was designed for that purpose It was put into production somewhere from 1930-1950 by Wesson Oil Company. It sole purpose was to make mayonnaise, yet I use it to store pretty marbles. It would be so much more useful if I used it for its designed purpose, because what I use it for was not its intended use. So it sets and is hardly seen. So it is with God and His creation. God is goodness, truth and grace. His desire for us is to have the fruit of the Spirit. Let me remind you what those are.
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
I am pretty sure that your life and the world would benefit from the fruit of the Spirit instead of the highway to hell with the evil and wickedness associated with it.
Choose wisely young man, young woman for those who do not choose right over wrong are destined to be miserable on this earth and tormented when they leave it.
